Flooring & Tile Installation

Hardwood, luxury vinyl plank and large-format tile, installed flat, tight and level — in Charlotte and all around it.

Flooring is one of those jobs where the finish only looks as good as what's underneath it. D'Avila Handyman installs hardwood, luxury vinyl plank and large-format tile across the Charlotte area, and every job starts with getting the subfloor right — because a beautiful floor over an uneven base still ends up creaking, gapping or cracking within a year.

Charlotte has a mix of older homes with settled, uneven subfloors and newer builder-grade houses where the flooring was never quite leveled to begin with. Either one needs real prep work, not just a fast install over what's already there. Norge looks at the subfloor first, before ever talking about which material goes on top.

What's included

Every flooring job starts the same way regardless of material: check the subfloor for level, moisture and soft spots, then correct it before anything gets laid down. Skipping that step is the single biggest reason floors fail early — hardwood cups, LVP seams separate, tile cracks. Leveling compound, replacing rotten sections and proper underlayment aren't optional extras, they're the part of the job that decides whether the floor lasts.

For tile specifically, large-format pieces need a flatter substrate than small tile ever did, so the prep matters even more in kitchens and bathrooms. For hardwood and LVP, transitions between rooms and against walls are where sloppy work shows first — Norge keeps those tight and consistent room to room, not just in the room you're standing in when you check the work.

How we work

Walkthrough

Norge checks the existing floor and subfloor condition room by room.

Material & Estimate

You settle on hardwood, LVP or tile and get a straight estimate for the job.

Prep & Level

Old flooring comes out, the subfloor gets leveled and repaired where needed.

Install & Cleanup

New flooring goes in with clean transitions, and the space is cleaned up after.

Flooring & Tile by city

The Charlotte area is many housing generations at once — a 1990s two-story in Matthews, a ranch on a big Mint Hill lot and a new Huntersville subdivision each remodel differently, and we work in all of them.

Common questions

Should I go with hardwood or luxury vinyl plank?
It depends on the room and what you want out of it — Norge walks through the tradeoffs with you at the estimate visit based on the actual space, not a generic answer.
My subfloor is uneven — can you still install new flooring?
Yes, that's the first thing Norge checks. Leveling and repairing the subfloor is part of the job, not something skipped to save time.
Do you install large tile in bathrooms and kitchens?
Yes — large-format tile is common in both, and it needs a flatter base than smaller tile, which is part of the prep work Norge does before setting it.
